September Update: Camping, TBI Support, and Planning the Next Getaways

I can’t believe fall is already here! Fall is my favorite season, but I hate the cold, lol! It’s been a hot summer, but a great one with so many memories.

One of those was the camping we did this past weekend. In September, we made many plans. It was great getting a lot of my immediate family together at Lewis and Clark State Park. The planning wasn’t a huge deal, but getting some new gear and organizing the rest was definitely a part of the month. I didn’t get too many photos of the actual campsite setup, but I got a few good ones. I might write more about that in my November update.

September was also a really meaningful month for “family planning,” lol! I started putting together a special trip for my mom, for her birthday coming in January! We are cruising on Utopia of the Seas out of Port Canaveral to celebrate. Being able to plan these kinds of milestones and look forward to that time means everything.

Speaking of getting away, I’ve been staying busy at the office, but in September I booked my first solo cruise that I’m SO looking forward to! It leaves later this month, and I’m really excited about it. I’ll even get to reconnect with a couple of friends I met on my last cruise in August on the Symphony of the Seas.

I also visited MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital on Sept. 5th for my first Brain Injury Support Group social event. They do this the first Saturday of each month between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. I was happy to meet Vicki and Dean, who is in recovery from his TBI. It was great to connect with people you can truly connect with. I learned that Dean was starting his recovery at Ability KC, which is exactly where I was for my recovery for months, and it is a great recovery center. I was able to share the story of my experience with them.

Fall is here! Be YOU! You’re more than you think, & stronger than you know. Own it!
